PT Claims Intern - Property Damage

Maryland Auto Insurance seeks candidates to fill a part-time, contractual role in our Internship Program within the Property Damage Department. This is a part time position with a maximum of 29 hours per week for 8 weeks this summer starting June 8, 2026. This position is hybrid with both virtual and in office work. The candidate will be required to come into the office a minimum of once per week. Wednesdays will be a required in office day for educational lunch and learn sessions. This role is open to applicants residing in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey. The Claims Intern supports the Property Damage Claims staff. Job duties include: Prints documents from the MVA system into our Imageright system. Document coverage template into the Claims system chronology. Orders police report from our vendor. Issues letters that are established in the Claims system. Make contact on 1st party claims and or clear liability claims. Set up Damage Assessment Center and or field assignments. Organize and label demands. Update the settlement sheet and send the claim for bill audit and or nurse review. Run ISO on involved parties. Import files and or photos into Imageright. Send medical authorization to claimant(s), send completed medical authorization to medical providers. Import expense bills into Imageright and task the claim adjuster to issue payment. May take first notice of loss statements. Participate on claims department projects. Requirements: Education: Currently enrolled in a college degree program (associate's, bachelor's, or master's) Qualified applicants will be effective communicators and have an ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues, other industry-related professionals and the public. Applicants should also be highly adaptable to changes in procedures and guidelines. Additional Information
This position does not supervise other employees. This is a part-time, non-benefited position with core hours scheduled during regular business hours.
