Description
The Sr. Director of Total Rewards Partnering leads the enterprise Total Rewards Partner function, serving as the primary strategic interface between Total Rewards and the business lines. This role ensures Total Rewards strategies, programs, and solutions are aligned to business priorities, talent needs, and market dynamics while maintaining enterprise consistency, equity, and governance.
The Director oversees a team of Total Rewards Partners and works closely with senior HR and business leaders to translate workforce strategy into competitive, compliant, and scalable total rewards solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnership
Serve as the senior Total Rewards advisor to business and HR leadership, aligning rewards strategies with business objectives, workforce plans, and financial goals.
Translate business needs and talent challenges into actionable total rewards strategies and program enhancements.
Provide thought leadership on compensation, benefits, incentives, recognition, and rewards innovation.
Leadership of Total Rewards Partner Model
Lead, develop, and coach a team of Total Rewards Partners supporting multiple business lines.
Establish a consistent partner operating model, including roles, responsibilities, engagement standards, and governance.
Ensure partners proactively identify business needs and elevate insights to inform enterprise Total Rewards strategy.
Enterprise Strategy & Program Alignment
Partner with Total Rewards COEs (Compensation, Benefits, Executive Rewards, Recognition, Wellbeing) to shape enterprise strategy and programs.
Balance business-line differentiation with enterprise consistency, equity, and compliance.
Influence the design, rollout, and adoption of Total Rewards programs to maximize business impact.
Analytics, Insights & Storytelling
Leverage data, benchmarking, and workforce analytics to inform decision-making and recommendations.
Develop clear executive-level narratives that articulate the value, cost, and impact of Total Rewards programs.
Monitor effectiveness of rewards programs and recommend continuous improvements.
Change Management & Communication
Lead change management efforts related to Total Rewards strategy and program evolution.
Partner with HR and Communications to ensure clear, compelling messaging to leaders and employees.
Support leaders in understanding and effectively using Total Rewards as a talent and performance lever.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CCP, CEBS) preferred.
12+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, Compensation, or HR strategy.
Proven experience leading enterprise or multi-business Total Rewards compensation programs.
Demonstrated success partnering with senior business leaders in complex organizations.
Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
