Role Summary/Purpose Synchrony’s B2B business delivers $2B+ in Net Income and provides comprehensive financing solutions to hundreds of thousands of active merchants and providers in 20+ markets. The B2B products offered to our merchants and providers are delivered through a variety of digital platforms and channels. As a key member of the B2B Digital Products Team, this leadership role is responsible for helping drive and achieve Synchrony’s business objectives focusing on Commercial credit products. The ideal candidate will demonstrate SYF’s ability to understand and meet our client’s and customer’s needs through technology-driven and innovative solutions in partnership with Product Management, Go To Market, TechOps, Credit and other cross functional teams. This leader will have strong communication skills, experience working in a matrixed environment with clients and technical development teams, strong project management and Agile skills, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects. This position will report to the Senior Vice President, B2B Digital Products.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Directly responsible for Agile Release Train leadership duties such as long term planning, design, build, and launch of new product features and enhancements, leading demos/stakeholder meetings, participating in ART ceremonies, managing the flow of work across the ART, using Scaled Agile methodology

Guide, mentor, and develop a team highly motivated and skilled Product Owners

Partner with the Product Management team to develop and implement new digital platform features and capabilities inclusive of strategic initiatives, client requests, relevant marketplace trends, and competitive assessments

Work with Product Owners to ensure active JIRA/JIRA Align management so that features and story requirements are DOR and well defined, ahead of the Program Increments (PIs), and the JIRA Align Program Board is up to date with latest backlog and feature set

Participate and Co-lead Scaled Agile ceremonies, including PI planning, with the RTE and Train Architect

Work with Legal, Governance, Compliance organizations to review new features and enhancements and effectively manage defects and issues

Partner with Product Management, Platform Client leaders, UX, CX and other cross functional groups to measure the benefit of features and align on priorities for upcoming PIs

Partner with Analytics, Operations and Technology to measure the train’s performance against OKRs/KPIs, and Agile metrics and communicate it’s status to stakeholders

Consult with cross functional groups, clients, and outside partners to ensure alignment and resource optimization to deliver on prioritized initiatives and platform roadmaps

Lead, facilitate, and take responsibility for PO Syncs and other events to ensure all POs are aligned on all product features across teams

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree or, in lieu of degree, a high school diploma/GED and 10 years of Agile work experience

Minimum of 8 years of project management experience with demonstrated success managing multiple projects through building / leadership of direct reports in a matrixed environment

Proven experience with direct people manager leadership direct reports in a matrixed environment

Experience with Agile software development framework, acting in the Product Manager or Product Owner role

Experience working with technical teams and/or guiding the creation and implementation of digital products and platforms

Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Desired Qualifications

2+ years in financial services or other highly regulated industry

Strong background working with clients, reporting on performance and delivering results

Certified Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) enterprise leadership professional

Track record of creative problem solving and ability to thrive in a cross-functional and virtual environment

High energy, self-motivated, with strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Grade/Level: 13

The salary range for this position is

130,000.00 - 210,000.00

USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements

You must be 18 years or older

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
