Bloomingdale's Director, Personal Shopping
role at BoF Careers. The primary responsibility of the Director of Shopping Services & Luxury Selling is to drive exceptional service and selling execution in Personal Shopping & Stylist to maximize sales. The Director will lead Personal Shopping and Stylist efforts for both Men’s and Women’s categories, hire and develop a team of top sellers, and extend leadership across the Flagship. This role partners with luxury leaders, vendors, and top sellers to grow luxury business, expand market share, and position Bloomingdale's as a premier luxury partner in the New York City market. In collaboration with the General Manager and direct reports, the Director develops and executes store-facing strategies for the Shopping Services & Luxury business to drive profitability. Responsibilities
Develop and support the growth of the Personal Shoppers and Stylists. Ensure service, selling, and client development skills are demonstrated at a high level with visible results. Coach shoppers/stylists to improve skills and outcomes. Establish structure, processes, and standards to ensure a consistently high luxury experience for Services clients. Lead Flagship luxury leaders to implement strategies that drive accelerated luxury sales and cultivate the luxury client. Hold direct reports accountable for business results, including sales, customer acquisition, event results, Loyallist applications/enrollments, and NPS feedback. Proactively recruit Personal Shopping/Stylist talent in partnership with Human Resources. Sell unique flagship luxury product with a focus on luxury selling in Personal Shopping. Drive Top of the List client acquisition and development within services and luxury brands. Deliver sales and client attendance to flagship events and experiences. Collaborate with Integrated Marketing and store partners to develop seasonal event schedules that drive client acquisition and sales, enhancing the luxury customer experience. Provide event recaps and report productivity monthly to coach the team and share best practices. Ensure proactive client outreach to drive sales volume and promote effective use of sales tools and technology. Set clear expectations for leadership behavior and accountability for results. Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality. Qualifications
4-year college degree preferred 5+ years of relative experience, preferably in the retail industry Ability to read, write, and interpret documents Excellent written and verbal communication skills Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Adaptable to changing priorities Ability to build powerful collaborative relationships Empowers others to make decisions Strong follow-up skills and sense of urgency Strong leadership profile and excellent negotiation skills Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs Physical Requirements
