We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join our Tax team. This role will report to the Indirect tax lead based in Atlanta and work closely with team members located at various global locations. The ideal candidate brings extensive indirect tax experience with telecommunications taxes, sales and excise taxes, including in the areas of compliance, SOX, audits, and business partner support for tax inquiries. This role is hybrid and will work out of the Atlanta or Indianapolis office 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
Drive and implement strategies to optimize indirect tax operations with respect to telecommunications taxes, sales and use taxes, business taxes, and gross receipts taxes.
Collaborate with the Tax team and Finance leadership in developing a global solution for indirect tax compliance.
Own operational metrics for timely, accurate, and efficient indirect tax filings.
Maintain SOX compliance.
Develop business processes incorporating technology solutions and an optimized operational model to support business partner and customer indirect tax inquiries.
Partner with source-to-pay process owners to operationalize indirect tax requirements that ensure proper tax treatment of purchase activities.
Oversee first-level audit support and defense, particularly with respect to telecommunications taxes.
Required Qualifications
5 years or more experience with indirect tax return compliance and operations.
US telecommunications taxes expertise
Familiarity with ERP systems and tax determination systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with process automation
Experience working with large volumes of data
Experience with tax technology solutions.
Canadian telecommunications taxes expertise
