
Senior Underwriter – Private Credit Platform
Private Credit Platform is seeking a Senior Underwriter to take on an active loan portfolio.
This position’s primary responsibility is evaluating and underwriting potential private and public companies seeking bridge financing. The role involves analyzing financial documents, assessing risk, writing reports, and making recommendations to approve or deny funding requests. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience evaluating multiple loan structures.
Responsibilities
Analyze financial documents and assess risk to recommend approval or denial of funding requests.
Assess and analyze term sheets for loans, including reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documentation.
Evaluate the financial health and stability of applicants to determine the risk level associated with each advance.
Conduct thorough risk assessments by analyzing business revenue, cash flow, and other financial metrics.
Provide investment write‑ups outlining the investment opportunity and recommendations for approval, denial, or modification of funding terms.
Communicate underwriting decisions and rationale to applicants and internal teams clearly and professionally.
Collaborate with sales teams to address any issues or concerns related to the underwriting process.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of underwriting decisions, including investment write‑ups, supporting documentation, and rationale for each case.
Prepare and submit reports on portfolio‑level underwriting performance, trends, and potential areas for improvement.
Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements during the underwriting process.
Identify and recommend improvements to underwriting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound judgments in a fast‑paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
5 years of experience in underwriting, mandatory. Preference for those with underwriting experience in private credit or a related field with flexible short‑term loan structures.
Must be able to enforce underwriting policies and guidelines including investment committee decisions.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Proficiency in financial analysis, modeling, and risk assessment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when communicating with C‑Level executives.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
