
Underwriting Servicing Clerk-Life and Annuities

This role supports the new business policy issuance process & helps underwriters by handling a variety of tasks that aid the review & acceptance/decline of new individual life policies.
What You'll Do As an Underwriting Servicing Clerk you will:
Audit all calls and screen applications from our tele-app vendor to ensure accurate and complete information was submitted
Verify plan, riders, volumes and personal policy data
Review signature(s) on the application and ensures all state required forms have been received and are accurate and complete to help ensure compliance with state regulations
Prepare state forms, riders, policy endorsements and modification
Issue policies in our LifePro administration system following underwriting decisions
Activate new life policies to help ensure accurate commissions and unit counts are provided.
Additionally you will
Send letters to agent, policy owner and insured, review rates for accuracy and extra premium charged
Review system output of policy pages and riders to ensure accuracy
Handle duplicate policy requests from Policy Owner Service, Claims and Sales
Process guaranteed insurability riders to include ensuring the system is set to generate expiration of the rider appropriately
Handle phone inquiries from the Sales team assistants and agents
Assist Sales Reps/Agents in preparing life insurance proposals
Maintain knowledge of new and changing products, provisions, procedures, processing changes, state and underwriting requirements
Handle reviewing of closeout notices, initiate cancellation on new business policies
Handle applying cash to new business applications and other system cash functions
Correspond with sales associates and internal departments to answer questions relating to processing, rating and systems input
Process partial or whole conversions to include premium calculations, system set up and policy creation
Submit payor information for OFAC to review to help ensure compliance with federal law
Receive incoming customer service calls regarding policy status, changes, questions, and problems and provide the necessary service
Monitor pending activations cases and follow up with the agent timely to help ensure prompt activation.
Perform other job related duties as assigned from time to time

Associate Degree or equivalent experience
Life insurance product knowledge
Communication, organizational and keyboard skills
Ability to work accurately with detailed information
