Overview Under the direct supervision of the Branch Field Service Manager, the Field Service Representative (4) plays a crucial role in maintaining a designated territory of Sharp equipment, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction through effective communication and meticulous equipment maintenance. With extensive experience as a Field Service Technician, this role may involve mentoring entry‑level technicians and managing special or large accounts, applying advanced problem‑solving techniques as needed.
Responsibilities
Services and maintains a full territory independently in the installation, maintenance and repair of Sharp equipment and proactively develops service plans while maintaining a high degree of troubleshooting capabilities.
Makes recommendations to resolve complex service calls, providing solutions that will serve as future precedents for others.
Understands, properly performs and can teach all mechanical and electronic adjustments on equipment as outlined in the Technical Service Manual and Field Engineering Bulletins, as well as non‑standard techniques based on past experience.
Recommends solutions based on the Technical Service Manual and Field Engineering Bulletins, including our complete digital line of products, and serves as an expert in troubleshooting and product knowledge.
Actively works to resolve customer relations situations and communicates any unusual customer situations to a higher level.
Provides guidance on maintaining parts inventory and offers strategies on how to achieve exemplary levels of inventory control and usage.
Completes all required administrative functions in an accurate and timely manner.
Cooperates with fellow workers and management to achieve Branch service goals.
Keeps Group Leader or Branch Field Service Manager informed of machines performing below standards and provides resolution where possible.
Performs other duties as prescribed by the Branch Field Service Manager.
Qualifications
6–10 years of experience repairing or maintaining electronic equipment, including copiers.
College degree or technical vocational schooling preferred (electronics or electro‑mechanical).
Must possess CompTIA A+ and Network+ certification.
Must possess effective communication skills and excellent customer service skills.
Advanced application of diagnostic tools, organizational skills, and analytical skills.
Must successfully complete Sharp equipment pre‑testing and training.
Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software products preferred.
Valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance within company guidelines.
Physical Demands
Must be able to travel locally on a daily basis to various customer sites.
Requires frequent kneeling and bending and considerable use of hands and tools; walking great lengths at a time.
Frequently requires moving or lifting of up to 50 pounds and able to lift 75 on occasion.
Exposure to live electrical circuits.
Exposure to extreme environmental conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold and working with flammable liquids and solids.
Able to work in confined spaces.
Must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation The compensation range for this role is $51,000–$71,000. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program‑specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
