PCB Designer and Librarian
Corvid Technologies, Mooresville, North Carolina, United States, 28115
We are seeking a detail-oriented Altium Designer/Librarian to increase our hardware engineering capability. The ideal candidate will have experience through the complete PWB design cycle. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for part‑creation and component lifecycle management.
Responsibilites Include
Schematic Capture: Work collaboratively with Electrical Engineers to create/maintain hierarchical schematics.
Layout Execution: Perform multi‑layer PCB routing, including high‑speed digital interfaces, sensitive analog signals, signal conditioning, power supply circuits, and fast high current dump loops in flex, rigid‑flex, and rigid designs.
Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Work with suppliers and engineering to conduct DFM, DFA (Assembly), and DFT (Test) reviews to ensure high yield and lower production costs.
Output Generation: Prepare comprehensive fabrication and assembly packages (Gerber, ODB++, Drill files, Pick‑and‑Place, Fabrication, and Assembly drawings).
3D Modeling: Integrate accurate STEP models for all components to ensure precise mechanical clearance checking. Altium CoDesigner preferred. Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers to ensure PCB‑to‑Enclosure fitment.
Component Creation: Develop and maintain schematic symbols and high‑density PCB footprints (IPC‑7351 compliant) within the Altium environment. Component lifecycle management experience preferred.
Standardization: Establish and enforce global component and library standards, including naming conventions and layer assignments.
Requirements
Must be a US Citizen.
5+ years of dedicated ECAD layout and library experience (Altium Preferred).
Expertise in Altium Designer.
CID (Certified Interconnect Designer) or CID+ certification required.
Comprehensive knowledge of IPC‑6011, IPC‑6012, IPC‑6013, IPC‑2221, IPC‑7351, and J‑STD‑001.
Experience with impedance control and stack‑up design preferred.
Knowledge of Signal Integrity (SI) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) best practices preferred.
