The Good Seed Transition Age Youth Drop‑In Center supports vulnerable young adults ages 18–25 across Los Angeles County through drop‑in services, counseling, housing support, and guidance in employment, education, and life skills. Our mission is to provide holistic, individualized support that empowers young people to overcome barriers, build stability, and transition successfully into independent adulthood.

The Youth Employment Specialist develops and implements employment‑focused programs to help young adults secure meaningful work. Responsibilities include providing career counseling, leading job readiness workshops, connecting participants with local employers, and collaborating with community partners to create workforce pathways. The role also includes tracking participant progress, preparing reports, and staying informed on labor market trends. This position reports to the Drop‑In Center Program Manager/Executive Support Administrator.

Requirements

Develop and expand job opportunities for TAY DIC participants.

Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and community organizations throughout the Greater Los Angeles region.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of the local labor market and current hiring trends.

Partner with businesses to identify job openings, training initiatives, and alternative work opportunities.

Support employers with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates.

Maintain an up‑to‑date database of local employment opportunities.

Collaborate with case management staff to facilitate successful job placements.

Conduct follow‑up with program graduates and employers to assess outcomes and improve services.

Engage community and business leaders to increase awareness of workforce services.

Organize job fairs, employer panels, and workforce events.

Complete administrative duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual or dual‑language proficiency preferred.

Education, Certification & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience.

Proven experience in employment development, workforce services, customer service, and/or sales.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Familiarity with the communities served, including knowledge of local needs and available resources.

Working knowledge of the Greater Los Angeles labor market and current employment trends.

Public speaking and presentation experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
