Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Sales Engineer to support sales activities and customer engagements focused on our Portable Metrology product line. This is a Remote position based in the Seattle Metroplex.

About the Role The Sales Engineer – Portable Metrology will serve as a key technical resource for the regional sales team, providing product expertise, demonstrations, and consultative support to customers evaluating Hexagon's portable metrology systems. This role is instrumental in translating customer application needs into tailored solutions, bridging the gap between engineering and sales.

What You’ll Do

Deliver compelling, hands-on product demonstrations and technical presentations for prospective customers.

Serve as the subject matter expert on portable metrology products including Absolute Arms, Laser Trackers, and associated software.

Collaborate closely with account managers and technical sales specialists to align solutions with customer requirements.

Conduct pre-sales assessments to determine solution viability, site needs, and technical compatibility.

Support post-demo follow-ups, ROI analysis, and proof-of-concept activities.

Participate in trade shows, roadshows, and webinars as a technical spokesperson.

Maintain deep understanding of evolving industry applications and customer use cases.

Provide feedback to product teams based on customer input and field performance.

Maintain accurate records of engagements and demonstration activities in CRM systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.

3+ years of experience in metrology, quality engineering, or technical sales support preferred.

Practical experience operating or demonstrating portable CMMs, laser trackers, or 3D scanning systems.

Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technologies.

Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously in a fast-paced sales environment.

Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and consultative skills.

Familiarity with inspection software (e.g., PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, or similar) is highly desirable.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally up to 40%.

This is a remote role based in the Seattle Metroplex, supporting regional field activities and remote customer engagements.

Frequent virtual meetings and regular regional travel to customer sites and trade events.

Prolonged periods using computers and presentation equipment.

Occasional lifting and transport of demo hardware (up to 30 pounds).

Home office setup with reliable internet access is required.
