System Consultant (Sales Engineer)
to support complex, consultative pre-sales engagements and act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales process. This is a highly customer-facing role designed for a seasoned technical professional who understands industrial environments, systems integration, and data-driven operational improvement. What You'll Do
Support Account Executives across pre-sales cycles with deep technical expertise Lead technical discovery, solution design, and system architecture discussions Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations to both IT and business stakeholders Validate system compatibility, integration paths, and upgrade strategies Support RFPs, proposals, and technical documentation Collaborate closely with systems integrators and customer project teams Act independently as the technical point of contact, trusted to engage directly with customers Maintain strong product and solution knowledge across the portfolio Travel averages ~25% annually, with peaks up to 50% during busy periods What You Bring
5+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Systems Consultant, or technical pre-sales role Strong background in industrial automation, manufacturing systems, or process control environments Systems integrator experience strongly preferred, especially with data and analytics projects Exposure to industrial data platforms, analytics solutions, or cross-system integration Comfortable operating independently with minimal oversight Strong presentation and communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences Business-minded approach to technical problem solving Industry exposure to manufacturing, oil & gas, or food & beverage is a strong asset Ideal Backgrounds
Systems integrators with hands-on implementation and customer-facing experience Technical consultants supporting industrial software or analytics platforms Vendor-side Sales Engineers with transferable industrial domain expertise Candidates from mid-sized or Tier 2/3 organizations who thrive in lean, high-trust teams Compensation & Benefits
