Marketing Copywriter, Campaign Content – Merkle Position Goal: Create compelling, strategically driven copy that brings Merkle's marketing campaigns and events to life across channels. From supporting senior content strategists with thought leadership content, to owning promotional content that drives engagement and conversion, the main goal is to position Merkle’s expertise and drive leads. How You Do It
Merkle's marketing team operates at the intersection of complex technology solutions and human-centered storytelling. This role requires a skilled copywriter who can translate technical capabilities into clear, persuasive narratives that resonate with CMOs, marketing leaders, and enterprise decision-makers. You will partner closely with marketing strategists, content strategists, and practice area experts to execute integrated campaigns across Merkle's strategic themes/growth areas. This position requires work that will span the full content spectrum including long-form thought leadership (eBooks, whitepapers, research reports) to promotional assets (LinkedIn posts, email campaigns, blog articles) with some web copy to support campaign assets. These campaigns integrate proprietary research, client success stories, and cutting-edge industry perspectives. Responsibilities
Strategic thinking with tactical execution: Translate campaign objectives into copy that moves audiences through funnel stages from awareness to consideration to conversion. Versatility across formats: Write 3,000+ word thought leadership pieces, 280-character social posts, case studies, web pages, and other formats. Simplification mastery: Distill complex technical concepts (CRM platforms, identity resolution, AI automation, data architecture) into clear, engaging language for executive audiences. Outcome-oriented copywriting: Lead with results and problem-solving, not features, addressing common audience problems. Brand voice consistency: Maintain Merkle's authoritative tone while adapting style for different audiences, channels, and campaign objectives. Working Style
Collaborative partnership: Work with strategists, designers, and subject matter experts; synthesize input and respond to feedback. Process-driven organization: Manage copy for multiple campaigns, meet deadlines, and maintain quality under shifting priorities; project management skills are essential. Proactive contribution: Bring ideas to planning discussions and identify opportunities to repurpose or amplify assets. Technical Requirements
5+ years of professional copywriting experience in enterprise or B2B marketing, technology marketing, or agency environments Portfolio demonstrating range across long-form thought leadership, web copy, and promotional content Experience writing for senior executive audiences (C-suite, VP-level) Ability to work with subject matter experts to extract insights and translate technical information Comfort with content management systems, collaboration tools, and feedback platforms Understanding of SEO principles and how to optimize web copy for search and conversion Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related field Preferred Qualifications

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $68,000-$110,400. Placement within the salary range depends on experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
