The Community Employment Program Specialist/Business Relations Representative (BRR), works in partnership with Rehabilitation Counselors and Vocational Evaluators to determine suitable vocational options for individuals with disabilities and subsequently assist them in obtaining competitive employment within the community. Developing and maintaining employer relationships and promoting NCEIPD/s services are vital parts of this position.
Job responsibilities include the following:
• Working with consumers to assist them with seeking employment, completing applications, advocating with employers on behalf of the consumer, resume development, job placement/coaching, and follow-up services
• Teaching Employment Marketing Skills classes and conducting Windmills training to job-ready consumers and employers
• Providing written and verbal reports to counselors on the progress of referred consumers’ efforts towards obtaining employment
• Assisting consumers with obtaining internships that align with their vocational goals
• Engaging with local and regional employers to explain agency's mission and goals and to assist in meeting their business needs
