The Role We are seeking a creative and resourceful student with experience in tissue staining or microscopy/histology to work with the scientists on our biology team. They will contribute to the development of antibody-based therapeutics across a range of disease areas. Responsibilities will include performing a range of techniques from screening of candidate target expression patterns on cells and tissues and performing image analyses.
This is a hands‑on, laboratory position at a small and rapidly growing biotech start‑up in the South Boston/Dorchester area. We will be moving to Watertown in the summer of 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct tissue staining including immunohistochemistry and indirect immunofluorescence.
Conduct cell‑based assays such as cell differentiation and indirect immunofluorescence.
Perform image analysis and automated data recording workflows.
Communicate results in team meetings & accurate record keeping using an ELN.
Required Professional Experience & Qualifications
Undergraduate or Master’s level student with coursework in biology, bioengineering or related fields
This co‑op is part of a university partnership, and we will only be considering candidates who are Northeastern students.
Preferred Professional Experience & Qualifications
Biology lab experience (especially in histology or microscopy) in academic or biotech settings is a plus

The salary range for this role is $25.00 - $40.00 hourly. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. Compensation and benefits information is based on Ampersand’s good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future.
