Senior Communications Specialist
at our Bagdad mine site, you will act as an onsite Multimedia Journalist (MMJ). Your mission is to find, shoot, and edit compelling human-interest stories that highlight the people and massive engineering projects driving one of the world's leading metals companies.
If you are a self-starter who can talk to a haul truck driver at 6:00 AM and have a polished video ready for corporate by 3:00 PM, this is your role.
Responsibilities:
Boots-on-the-Ground Storytelling: Identify "human-centered" narratives-from "A Day in the Life" features to the progress of our massive new leach facilities. Full-Cycle Production: Own the entire creative process-storyboarding, field shooting (video/stills), audio/lighting setup, and high-end editing. Independent Reporting: Act as the sole communications lead on-site. You'll extract compelling narratives from technical staff and site workers who might be camera-shy. Strategic Insights: Monitor industry trends and media coverage to provide actionable research to senior leadership. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Health & Safety, Legal, and Sustainability teams to document critical site milestones
Qualifications:
The "MMJ" Skillset: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere/Creative Suite and a portfolio that shows real storytelling over glossy corporate commercials. The Persona: A former news reporter, military public affairs specialist, or field journalist who thrives in rural, industrial environments. Autonomy: You don't need a producer. You are comfortable hauling your own gear and working under minimal supervision. Experience: * High School/GED + 11 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor's Degree (Journalism/Comms) + 7 years of experience; OR Master's Degree + 5 years of experience.
