This position serves as part of the Purchasing Team to provide procurement authority for the Indiana Department of Health, to carry out all procurement related duties in accordance with guidelines set forth through the Indiana Department of Administration. This role will work with all purchasing needs across the agency including, but not limited to contracts/grants, contractors, and supplies/equipment. Salary Statement

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. A Day In The Life

The essential functions of this role are as follows: Enter and ensure all requisitions are approved, valid and within ISDH dollar delegation. Expedite to a purchase order within 2 business days of approval and validate the date and that the purchase order is sent to the selected vendor with the program and contracts staff in copy. Ensure that every procurement file has all necessary supporting documentation to tell the story of who, what, when, where, why and how the purchase was done, including but not limited to the IDOA audit checklist and the recommendation for award document. Ensure that all IDOA procurement policies and procedures are followed. Ensure that all internal and external customer needs are met. Customer service to internal and external customers is key to success in this position. Escalate issues to the Director with possible resolutions when able; manage requisitions daily to ensure requisitions and contracts are submitted to the Contract Team and POs are expedited and dispatched timely. Address all emails, phone calls, voicemails and other communications within 1 business day, and provide excellent customer service by meeting or exceeding customer expectations. This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave to receive their base biweekly salary. What You\'ll Need For Success

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment: Knowledge or willingness to develop knowledge of all Encompass modules Knowledge or willingness to learn all aspects of IDOH Procurement and the Procurement Guidelines designated by IDOA Procurement Knowledge or willingness to develop knowledge of Finance Department functions and procedures, as well as all Departments within the Agency. Ability for problem solving. Ability to provide customer service with diplomacy and tact Aptitude for business and mathematics Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
