Job Summary Responsible for expanding the Bank's commercial mortgage and small business loan portfolio by managing and growing profitable commercial lending relationships. Responsible for prospecting for new business and obtaining information from prospects on which lending decisions are made. Has significant lending authority and handles more complex loans.

Essential Functions

Manage all lending activities including soliciting, pre‑screening, underwriting, negotiation, and presentation of loan requests. Includes complex loans and loans requiring significant lending authority.

Determine loan feasibility by analyzing the financial condition, operating performance and repayment ability of borrowers utilizing financial statements, collateral documentation, borrower interviews and industry and economic data.

Approve loans within established limits or refer loans to Loan Committee for review and approval.

Develop and maintain lending and operating policies consistent with those established by the Bank.

Actively manage client portfolio to maximize return and credit quality by continually monitoring asset and client performance and maintaining ongoing contact with lending clients.

Analyze customer financial product needs and provide appropriate banking solutions through cross‑selling cash management and other Bank products to loan clients. Maintain knowledge of all Bank products and services.

Keep abreast of regulations and legislation, as well as other political and policy‑making events that directly affect the Bank.

Create and sustain relationships with local centers of influence, such as brokers, owners, CPA’s, real estate attorneys and customers for the purpose of referrals. Build and maintain relationships with community and civic groups and represent the Bank at related events.

Travel to business‑owner properties/locations for meetings.

Perform walk‑through inspections of commercial buildings and construction areas.

Interpret technical data and reports based on environmental and appraisal information while assessing properties.

Re‑evaluate past commercial and building loans in terms of cash flow.

Protect the Bank's assets and maintain quality of portfolio by adhering to lending processes, policies and procedures, legal and ethics requirements, regulations, audit requirements and established risk guidelines.

Compliance with all relevant Bank policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field required.

Credit Training for continuous learning preferred.

3+ years’ experience in Banking or lending related fields required.

Financial analytical and underwriting skills required.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
