Assistant Superintendent – Ground‐Up Multifamily Construction Commercial General Contractor – Southeast U.S. Travel Required About the Role A well-regarded commercial general contractor specializing in ground‐up multifamily projects, is seeking a driven Assistant Superintendent to join their field leadership team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‐paced environment, enjoys being hands‐on in the field, and is ready to grow into a full Superintendent position. You'll support the lead Superintendent in managing day‐to‐day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring the project stays on schedule and within quality expectations. Key Responsibilities Assist the Superintendent with daily on‐site supervision of all construction activities Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, inspections, and field operations Monitor project progress and help maintain the construction schedule Support quality control efforts, ensuring work meets plans, specs, and code requirements Enforce jobsite safety policies and participate in safety meetings and documentation Maintain daily reports, logs, and field documentation Assist with site layout, field engineering, and problem‐solving Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and ownership teams Travel to project sites throughout the Southeast United States as required Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred (Construction Management, Engineering, or related field) Minimum 3 years of experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent on ground‐up multifamily projects Strong understanding of wood‐frame construction, MEP sequencing, and multifamily building systems Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules Proficiency with construction management software (Procore preferred) Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Willingness to travel regionally for project assignments
