We are actively seeking a
FT Produce Manager
to join our busy store located in Yorktown Heights. This individual will be a part of a busy, collaborative team within our store, leading all efforts and functions for our high quality Produce Department.
Summary As a Produce Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our high quality produce department, ensuring the highest quality of fruits and vegetables for our customers. Your core skills in inventory management, team supervision, and customer service will be essential in maintaining stock levels and enhancing the shopping experience.
Responsibilities
Manage employees and oversee the daily operations of the Produce Department including hiring and training new employees
Meet with suppliers to negotiate prices and terms of sale, such as delivery schedules or product return policies
Review inventory levels and recommending purchase orders to replenish stock items
Train department staff in store policies, procedures, and customer service techniques
Maintaining inventory levels by ordering new items when necessary to meet customer demand
Overseeing the financial performance of the Produce Department by analyzing sales figures, conducting audits, and making recommendations for improvement
Other duties and functions as assigned
Requirements
HS Diploma or equivalent
Must have a minimum of 3 years of Produce Management experience
Strong leadership experience is required to run a Produce Department team and operations within the dept.
Excellent communication and display skills
Must have in depth knowledge of produce and thorough understanding of the productions process, quality standards, market value and pricing.

Working Conditions
Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
