Overview

JOB DESCRIPTION Proposal managers are key members of our pursuit teams, working as dedicated resources within each operating group (Transportation, Industrial, Building, and Renewables) to support Sundt's efforts to win work. They lead and direct the creation of best-in-class proposals and presentations, craft pursuit-specific win strategies, and serve as subject matter experts, providing leadership to proposal specialists. This person will be a skilled manager with proven leadership ability and significant industry experience.

Key Responsibilities

Assumes overall responsibility for individual pursuit-related deliverables such as prequalification materials, SQQ/proposals, and presentation materials, including the assignment of specific tasks to other pursuit team members and follow-up to ensure completion.

Collaborates with Pursuit Leader to identify reviewers and facilitates review sessions.

Develops content for key sections, including written responses and identification of appropriate graphics.

Implements standard pursuit management methods, tools, techniques, and competencies, including Lean principles and practices to improve pursuit planning, scheduling, and delivery results.

Leads the quality control process for each deliverable, including reviewing all content prior to incorporation to ensure that it meets both the client's requirements and Sundt's standards, and performing research or information-gathering as required to resolve issues.

Maintains and reinforces standards set forth in Sundt's Brand Guidelines, Style Guide, Pursuit Process Guidelines, etc.

Manages and leads the development and implementation of pursuit-specific win strategies including consistent messaging, layouts, and presentations of Sundt themes, ideas, skills, and capabilities.

Participates in debriefs, including root-cause analysis of unsatisfactory performance and development/implementation of corrective measures, as well as identification of areas of excellence for best practices and lessons learned.

Provides overall management of each assigned deliverable's design and production process with responsibility for quality, scheduling, and on-time delivery.

Serves as subject matter expert for pursuit-related deliverables and provides mentoring to Proposal Specialists as appropriate. Collaborates with other internal stakeholders to educate and share industry best practices.

Supports Sundt's Content and Data Management efforts by capturing all pursuit-related deliverables and information in accordance with Pursuit Process Guidelines.

Minimum Job Requirements

10+ years of marketing/proposal experience in A/E/C industry.

Additional professional or technical certifications.

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator; Cosential (or other CRM database); and Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Bachelor's degree in marketing, English, communications, journalism, or similar; advanced degree preferred.

Must be a skilled writer and able to effectively communicate highly technical concepts, terms and processes to varying audiences.

Must have demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects and appropriately prioritize tasks.

Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.

Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.

Will interact with people and technology frequently during a shift/work day.

Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis.

Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.

Will use telephone, computer system, email, and other electronic devices on a frequent basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.

Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate and for this position only. It is provided pursuant to the California Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules for positions located in California. The following pay range is based on geographical market data and does not include additional incentives that can impact total compensation. Salary is commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and overall job-related experience. Pay Range $100,000-$160,000
