Director of Dining Services

to lead the Chartwells K12 program for

Leavenworth USD 453 , a district of

8 schools serving approximately 3,400 students . This leader will oversee a dedicated team of

up to 65 frontline associates , an

Executive Chef , and

two district office assistants , ensuring exceptional execution of NSLP, SBP, CEP, and Summer Feeding Programs. The right candidate will be deeply engaged with students, staff, and families—participating in community traditions, homecoming events, and district activities—while fostering a welcoming dining environment that reflects the unique needs of a highly transitional, military‑connected community. This role requires a compassionate, visible leader who thrives in school environments and enjoys building relationships across campuses. The Director will drive operational excellence, regulatory compliance, student satisfaction, menu quality, and team development while maintaining strong client and community partnerships. With minimal catering and a strong focus on program consistency, this is an opportunity to shape the district’s food culture, elevate daily dining experiences, and make a lasting impact on the Leavenworth community through nutritious meals and meaningful engagement. Key Responsibilities: Maintain excellent relationships with customers, guests and client as well as other departments Work with the Chef and frontline team in creating menus and providing top quality food Oversee all P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the account Roll out new culinary programs Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Hospitality, Nutrition, Culinary preferred Three plus years of foodservice operation experience High volume food production experience is essential Previous experience managing a budget Desire to learn and grow with a top notch foodservice company
