CVS Health is seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to serve as Executive Director, Pharmacy Transformation within the Retail Pharmacy portfolio. This role is responsible for directly leading and driving efforts on researching and identifying potential opportunities for new growth, building the business case for implementation and change, and influence strategic decisions with a bias towards execution. The role is responsible for leading teams and joining forces with key partners to identify and scrutinize new products & programs that address patient needs in the market. This leader will be focused on incubating new growth opportunities over a long-term horizon, balancing innovation with operational feasibility and patient-centricity to deliver first to market, long-term value. The role will also be responsible for building future talent within the Rx Growth organization and leading with curiosity, strategic discipline, agility and growth mindset. The leader will be responsible for a team of 7+ people. They must have strong project management and governance skillsets and be able to effectively lead multiple workstreams at the same time. They must also be comfortable working in vague, white space, and undefined scopes and be able to work with agility while applying structure. They must also be resilient and be comfortable with change. The leader must be able to set clear milestones and action plans and know how to drive their team accordingly. Key Responsibilities
Create, lead, and influence the vision for new pharmacy transformation opportunities within the Retail Pharmacy portfolio. Architect a strategic roadmap focused on innovation, operational feasibility, and patient-centric solutions. Lead a team that is researching and analyze market trends, patient needs, and competitive landscape to identify new products and programs. Strategically outline the business cases for new initiatives, including financial modeling, risk assessment, and implementation planning. Partner with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, technology, and clinical teams to align on growth priorities. Influence senior leadership decisions through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations. Owner of the incubation of new growth initiatives from concept to pilot, ensuring timely execution and measurable outcomes. Balance innovation with scalability and compliance to deliver first-to-market solutions. Build and mentor a high-performing team within the Rx Growth organization. Foster a culture of curiosity, agility, and growth mindset to prepare future leaders. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational standards in all new initiatives. Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with new growth strategies. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions. Champion patient-centric innovation that addresses evolving customer needs. Required Qualifications
15+ years of Retail Pharmacy or relevant work experience Leading multidisciplinary teams, developing talent, and driving performance in ambiguous, fast?changing environments Strong strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and executional discipline Deep understanding of patient behavior, pharmacy operations, and clinical adherence dynamics Business case development, financial modeling, market sizing, and ROI analysis Experience incubating new products/services, designing pilots, and applying human?centered design principles Enterprise program governance, multi?workstream management, risk assessment, and structured execution frameworks Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills and ability to influence strategy in a large and complex organization Ability to interpret complex datasets, use insights for strategic decisions, and partner with analytics teams Familiarity with digital health capabilities, emerging technologies, and build/buy/partner evaluation Demonstrated experience delivering results as a leader and individual contributor Extensive change management experience and ability to lead through change Proven experience developing and executing strategies in a matrix operating model Hybrid Model - in office Tue-Thurs - Woonsocket, RI Preferred Qualifications
Experience in health care (pharmacy and outside of pharmacy) or in private equity, venture capital, and consulting with focuses on emerging technologies and health care are strongly preferred Experience in margin optimization, consumer experience design, or pharmacy innovation preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD, etc.) preferred. Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is: $131,500.00 - $303,195.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. Our people fuel our future.
