Job Description As the Director – Trade Compliance, you will be responsible for setting strategy and providing direction to ensure global compliance with export and import regulations. This includes developing, implementing, and managing policies and procedures that govern U.S. exports, U.S. imports, and international trade activities in all countries where the company operates. You will work closely with sales management across the company and collaborate with other corporate functions such as legal, contracts, supplier relations, operations, and M&A to ensure consistent and effective trade compliance globally.

Responsibilities:

Directs management of compliance on U.S. exports and imports. Develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with export regulations globally. Responsible for Wesco’s trade compliance program including maintaining export and import manuals and overseeing company-wide trade compliance training. Directs, audits, and reviews export activities for continuous improvement with export compliance process. Remains current on import and export regulations globally and communicates impact and risks to necessary business leaders. Implements controls as necessary. Leads interactions with US government and outside counsel. Coordinates and communicates responses to government requests including but not limited to: US Customs Requests for Information; Notices of Actions; DDTC registration; voluntary disclosures. Participates as M&A team member on international mergers and acquisitions. Investigates trade compliance due diligence aspects of target companies and make recommendations to M&A team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree - Business or related field Juris Doctor (JD), Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), and/or CUSECO certification preferred 10 years required; 15 years preferred of international business operations 3 years required; 5s year preferred managing U.S. import compliance 5 years required management of department and staff employees Knowledge of U.S. export regulations and best practices in compliance Ability to manage the use of law firms and consultants internationally to implement export and import compliance programs fashioned for Wesco’s business model Strong leadership skills Strong business analysis skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to travel 0% - 25%

Compensation Details $122,328 - $214,074 Annually

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan,subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
