About The Role:
We're looking for a Senior Graphic Designer with a progressive, concept-driven design background to help shape how the brand shows up across every touchpoint. This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, typography, photography, and execution-bringing ideas to life from concept to final deliverable. A digital first mentality is essential, but the ability to design for digital and physical space also needs to be a strength. This role demands a cultural connection to the outdoors, specifically surfing, trail running, climbing or snow sports. You'll apply visual concepts and design systems across digital, print, retail, and social, working closely with creative leadership, marketing, product, and content teams. From planning and photoshoots to refining typography and layouts, you'll help ensure Roark's visual language stays consistent, authentic, progressive and commercial.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop and execute strong graphic concepts that align with Roark's brand, voice, and ethos Ability to handle projects from end to end, as well as manage outside creative resources Plan, concept, and support photoshoots, including shot lists, visual references, and on-set creative direction Design across omni-channels: web, email, social, paid media, print, retail, packaging, and experiential Lead typography-driven layouts with a refined eye for hierarchy, pacing, and composition Edit and retouch photography to support campaigns, editorial, and product storytelling Manage and organize assets both working and final Collaborate with product team to bring seasonal design direction to life for marketing Apply digital and social media trends to Roark's Brand narrative and design ethos Maintain and evolve Roark's visual standards while pushing the work forward creatively Manage multiple projects simultaneously while hitting deadlines without sacrificing quality Make others around you better Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred 4+ years of professional graphic design experience, ideally within lifestyle, fashion, or outdoor brands A strong portfolio showing conceptual thinking, strong visual sense, typographic mastery, and cross-channel execution Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator); motion or video skills a plus Experience working with photography-both in planning shoots and post-production Strong understanding of digital design trends and best practices and print production A collaborative mindset with the ability to lead projects independently Attention to detail paired with big-picture thinking A natural alignment with Roark's spirit of travel, adventure, the outdoors and purpose-built design Location & Office Structure: This is an in-office hybrid position, mandatory 4 days per week in office in Irvine, CA with the option to work from home 1 day per week. Subject to change without notice as per company guidelines.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus; salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position.
