PrideStaff - Greenville is seeking a highly analytical and industry-seasoned Purchasing Specialist on behalf of a leading manufacturer in the plastic film industry located in the Greer area.
As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement process utilizing Epicor ERP. The right candidate must possess deep industry knowledge, a commitment to cost-reduction strategies, and the ability to maintain 100% inventory accuracy using advanced replenishment methodologies.
Purchasing Specialist Primary Responsibilities include: Your main responsibility is the strategic sourcing and procurement of materials, ensuring production remains uninterrupted while maximizing profitability. Epicor ERP Management: Manage the full purchasing lifecycle within Epicor, ensuring data integrity for all purchase orders, vendor records, and inventory transactions. Inventory Optimization: Utilize Min/Max inventory strategies within Epicor to forecast needs, prevent stockouts, and minimize carrying costs. Industry-Specific Sourcing: Source and purchase essential materials for plastic film production, including resins (PE, PP, PET), polymers, masterbatches, and specialized additives. Vendor Management: Identify and negotiate with industry-specific suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, quality materials, and reliable lead times. Purchase Order Management: Generate and track POs from issuance to delivery, ensuring all documentation is accurate and arrives on schedule. Quality & Compliance: Coordinate with Quality and Production teams to ensure all incoming raw materials meet technical specifications and industry standards. Market Analysis: Track global plastics and oil market trends to anticipate price fluctuations and implement proactive cost-saving initiatives. Logistics Oversight: Work closely with freight partners to resolve shipping delays and ensure the timely delivery of inbound materials.
Purchasing Specialist Desired Skills and Experience include:
Required Experience: 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience specifically within the plastic film or flexible packaging industry. Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Epicor ERP is required; experience using a Min/Max approach for inventory management is highly preferred. Industry Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of resin grades, polymer characteristics, and the global plastic commodities market. Advanced Negotiation: Proven track record of managing high-value vendor negotiations and supply contracts. Data Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for complex data analysis and reporting. Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with global suppliers and internal stakeholders.
