Role Overview: As a Safety Director at Precon Marine Inc, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to promote a safe working environment for all employees. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our operations and project management teams to ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards. Whether you work on-site in Chesapeake, Virginia, you’ll have the flexibility to lead safety trainings and engage with personnel across various maritime projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
Organize and deliver safety training sessions for employees to ensure awareness and compliance.
Investigate accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with management and employees to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement in practices.
Qualifications: You're a great fit if you have the following skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in the marine or construction industry.
Certification in Safety Management (e.g., CSP, OSHA) is a plus.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Bonus If You:
Have experience in a marine construction environment.
Possess advanced first aid and CPR certifications.
Are familiar with environmental regulations related to marine construction.
Employment Type & Availability: This position is Full-Time, Monday through Friday.
Location: This position is on-site only in Chesapeake, Virginia.
