JOB DESCRIPTION - FULL TIME The Senior Manager of Communications is responsible to develop and manage communication assets and timelines directed to prospective and current students and their families navigating the admissions and enrollment process. This position plays a key role in helping audiences understand the admissions and enrollment process, timelines, and next steps, while driving students forward in their action, to support ORU’s aggressive enrollment goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategizes, develops, and maintains a communications calendar for all prospective and returning student cohorts, ensuring that next steps are clearly and accurately communicated through a variety of channels, including emails, text messages, web pages, printed letters, mailing collateral, brochures, web pages, and other communications.

Develops and manages the project management system and establishes and ensures project timelines are met.

Coordinates and executes the development of communication initiatives and assets which includes copy writing and editing, and layout and design.

Supervises the Content Creator, assigning, providing direction and feedback, and ensuring clarity, accuracy, brand consistency, and a timely delivery and deployment of all projects.

Provides design support as needed, and develops and maintains a database of graphics for use in campaigns as needed.

Liaises with the Enrollment Management director team and Vice President to ensure that the strategic vision for each project is carried out producing successful outcomes. Develops outline with project details, branding, and goals, to stay aligned with the frontline teams and other needs therein.

Responsible for ensuring that all assets are assembled completely to be delivered to the Associate Director for review. Disseminates additional feedback and establishes new deadlines for implementing requested changes for re-review, final approval, and deployment.

Stays current with the needs of the calendar, establishing reminders, dates, and deadlines for upcoming projects in development or in revision for on-time delivery. Supports the leadership team in integrating new projects and reprioritizing current projects as needed to meet the demand of the recruitment cycle.

Evaluates campaign performance and provides strategic direction for enhancing the effectiveness of campaigns in driving the desired student action and outcome required to measure success.

Liaises vendors for outsourced projects where necessary and interfaces with and maintains a strong working relationship with Directors, Deans, External Affairs, Administration, and others, as necessary.

Works to complete 95% of all projects within requested timeframes for quantity and quality assurance and production of pieces.

Hires and manages student workers as assigned.

Participates in special projects, meetings, and committees as assigned.

COMPETENCIES Knowledge & Experience

Requires a bachelor’s degree in related field, such as Marketing; Advertising; Public Relations; Communication; Digital Media; Graphic Design; Psychology; Business, Management, etc.

Requires two years of experience in related field.

Experience in designing for the web and email campaigns is essential.

Experience using graphic design or email marketing platforms such as Canva, Pardot, Fire Engine Red, Mailchimp or Constant Contact is strongly desired.

Experience using a CRM or project management software is desirable.

Experience in a University setting is preferred.

Experience with ORU and its features and benefits are beneficial.

Must have the ability to:

Demonstrate interpersonal communication to maintain strong working relationships and collaboration.

Possess strong copy writing and editing skills.

Provide examples of graphic design work.

Use sound judgment regarding organizational and departmental regulations, procedures, and policies.

Be able to multi-task in the midst of a fast-paced office environment, while maintaining a strong attention to detail.

Maintain a professional demeanor at all times, especially for the purpose of receiving and transmitting information.

Demonstrate proficiency in communication and design or project management software.

Maintain a high level of confidentiality of information.

Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policy and its procedures.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Travel: Occasional out-of-town travel, air and ground, and occasional use of personal vehicle will be required. The ability and willingness to travel and work occasional nights and weekends is required.
