The Business Banker is responsible for retaining and growing a dedicated portfolio of profitable and high value business clients Partners with Branch Managers and other bank employees to retain and grow current business banking relationships. Cultivates external Centers of Influence to identify new sales opportunities. Provides recommendations and solutions unique to each client's specific banking needs. Responsible for developing the assigned credit portfolio quality and managing requests for credit extensions and ensuring credit facilities are properly structured, priced and documented. Require d Experience:

Minimum 3 years of banking experience at the level of Relationship Banker Preferred Experience:

Basic knowledge of credit administration and credit quality Thorough knowledge of business banking products and services Demonstrated understanding of basic financial accounting and analysis Previous experience with small business/commercial lending Required Skills:

Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to multi-task and work effectively with individuals and groups in managing customer relationships Strong relationship management and business development and business to business sales skills Functions:

Builds, develops, and maintains profitable lending and deposit relationships with new and existing customers. Consults with customers and prospects at their places of business in order to understand their current business practices and identify their financial goals and needs. Contributes to the growth of a profitable loan portfolio by originating applications for all types of small business loans. Gathers, analyzes and discusses credit and financial information for determination of credit quality and appropriateness of bank products and services at prospects’ or customers’ places of business. Sources, analyzes and closes new loan request using the processes available at M & F Bank. Proactively deepens customer relationships by meeting their needs through additional products and services. Actively refers clients to other M & F Bank areas for additional needs. Represents the bank at various civic and community functions to further enhance M & F Bank’s image and develop additional business opportunities and centers of influence. Uses civic and community contacts to develop new business opportunities result in closed business. Achieve 100% of all sales goals on a quarterly basis. Partners with branch employees developing, communicating, and implementing the sales strategy in order to meet/exceed business objectives, and exchange leads/referrals. Conducts joint outside sales calls with branch employees at prospects’ or customers’ places of business.
