Position OverviewThe Director of Staff Development is responsible for **planning, coordinating, and leading education and training programs** for nursing and facility staff. Working closely with the Director of Nursing and Administrator, the DSD plays a key role in maintaining compliance, building staff competency, and supporting a culture of continuous learning—while also providing direct resident care as needed.### ###
Key Responsibilities (Summary)* Lead facility orientation, in-service education, and ongoing training programs* Develop and maintain annual and monthly in-service schedules and records* Identify staff education needs using surveys, evaluations, audits, and facility rounds* Coordinate infection control education and emergency preparedness drills* Support recruiting, onboarding, and staff supervision as needed* Participate in regulatory surveys and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements* Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members* Provide direct resident/patient care when appropriate### ###
Qualifications* Active **RN or LVN/LPN license** (BSN preferred)* At least **1 year of long-term care experience** providing direct patient care* At least **1 year of experience** planning and delivering nursing education programs* **2+ years of experience** preferred, ideally in a long-term care setting* Current **CPR certification*** Knowledge of **PCC** preferred* Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills### ###
