In this newly created leadership role, the successful candidate will collaborate with Pursuit operations teams on the purchasing and procurement of key goods and services, own vendor and supplier management activities, and continue to develop and grow our centralized procurement program. This role focuses on maturing the Company’s global procurement capability and refining procurement policies and procedures, all while maintaining a high degree of business partnership with operations teams globally.The Director will report to the Chief Platform Officer and will oversee an effective strategic procurement and supplier management program with a strong emphasis on quality, cost optimization, supply availability, and social and environmental compliance in connection with the company’s Promise to Place initiative.He or she will work closely with internal teams and vendors on innovative approaches and partnerships, leading complex supplier negotiations and managing contractual agreements in concert with the business. This role requires strong leadership and the ability to cooperate with and positively influence the procurement process across Pursuit, with the goal of executing procurement strategies to reduce costs and improve margins while simultaneously maintaining or improving the guest and team member experience.**ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES*** **Mature the Function:** Lead the next phase of the global strategic procurement initiative, evolving existing strategies, policies, and procedures to drive efficiency and effectiveness.* **field Support & Coaching:** Actively coach, train, and provide ongoing support and leadership to field-based procurement teams in operating geographies to ensure alignment with global strategies and best practices.* **GPO Management:** Manage the company’s relationship with our third-party Group Procurement Organization to better capitalize on cost savings opportunities and maximize the value of the partnership.* **Brand Standards & Amenities:** Liaise with operations and brand leaders regarding product and guest room amenity standards, leading the procurement strategy and sourcing for those specific items.* **Strategy Execution:** Deliver annual cost savings and margin expansion through the continued execution and optimization of global purchasing capabilities spanning people, process, and technology.* **Triple Win:** Partner with operating and support services teams to achieve the triple win: higher quality products, lower costs, and alignment with Promise to Place environmental focus.* **Metrics & Planning:** Develop and execute annual procurement business plans; establish and communicate short and long-term savings targets, key performance metrics, and toolsets for defining and monitoring success.* **Procure-to-Pay & Systems:** Liaise with Accounting and Information Technology to establish clear Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and actively participate in the design and implementation of the company's future state purchasing and procurement system.* **One-Team Mindset:** Maintain a culture of inclusion between the central procurement team and operational personnel responsible for local purchasing, fostering cooperation and encouraging the sharing of information to achieve desired outcomes.* **Vendor Management:** Take a leadership role in vendor and supplier management and negotiation of commercial terms with suppliers.* **Travel:** Travel to Pursuit operating locations globally to engage directly onsite with operations leaders.**REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICAITONS*** Bachelor’s degree or greater in business, logistics, or supply chain management, with 10+ years of related experience and at least 5 years of supervisory experience* Experience leading and growing an internal procurement function, preferably within the hospitality industry* Proven experience in successfully bringing teams together, from multiple locations, to achieve improved enterprise-wide procurement results* Experience with sourcing and procurement technology platforms**CRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS:*** **Business Partnership:** Strong orientation to collaboration with teammates spanning a variety of business functions, with an open style that lends itself to building relationships, listening, communicating clearly, and creating a collegial environment* **Influence:** Carries a strong voice within the organization and possesses the ability to positively influence others to adhere to proven methodologies and challenge the status quo regarding purchasing tactics* **Results-Oriented:** Data and metrics-driven leader with a bias towards action and delivery of results* **Urgency:** Operates with a strong sense of urgency, consistently striving to deliver actionable financial information to decision-makers as quickly and accurately as possible* **Strategic Thinking:** Broad thinker and collaborative partner who understands business issues and geography-specific nuances with the ability to define and communicate a clear solution and approach* **Leadership:** Demonstrates a clear courage and willingness to lead, taking the time to explain concepts and best practices in sound purchasing and procurement tactics* **Curiosity:** Possesses a natural curiosity to understand the story behind the numbers and a desire to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.* **Integrity:** Leads by example with sound judgment and integrity; communicates with a high degree of intellectual honesty* **Adaptability:** Very high sense of self-awareness, being resourceful, resilient, and adaptable, while knowing when to ask for help when neededThe target base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000We're more than a hospitality and attractions company.
