Job Title: Grant Writer Department: Development & Marketing
Reports to: Sr Director of Development and Marketing FLSA Status: Contractor, 1099 tax form
Salary: $40-60/hour, based on experience
Position Description Naturally curious, creative and industrious individual responsible for writing compelling proposals for portfolio of $1.5 million in private grant contributions. Position will require meeting stringent deadlines, producing captivating and accurate reports and proposals, researching and developing new prospect list driven by organizational needs and growth.
This can be a remote only position with preference given to candidates based in Tulsa, OK. This position is on a contract and part time, with hours fluctuating through the year based on organizational needs and grant deadlines.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties
Research funding opportunities that match the mission and programs of YWCA Tulsa.
Maintain grants calendar of submitted and upcoming deadlines.
Write compelling proposals and reports to secure funding.
Ensure all proposals and reports are submitted ahead of deadlines.
Collaborate with YWCA program directors and managers to gather needed information for proposals and reports.
Maintain all grant files, including proposals, contracts, reports
Required Skills/Abilities
Superb attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent writer with ability to adjust tone based on the audience.
Strategic thinker who can modify proposals to match the funder’s priorities.
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with personnel and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Ability to manage responsibilities and to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work as a team player.
Ability to listen and provide accurate information.
Must be an advocate for the mission, values and goals of the YWCA Tulsa.

Education and Experience
2-3 years’ experience in grant writing
1-2 year experience in writing federal grant proposals
Prior work with a nonprofit organization committed to social justice.
Strong administrative skills.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office 2007--Word, Excel, Outlook, and database skills)
