Regulatory Intern
to be in
Santa Clara, CA . The Intern term is from June to August, 2026. Full time requirement (40 hours per week). Purpose: The Regulatory Affairs Intern will participate and learn about the basics of Regulatory processes and procedures in order to assist in Regulatory research, project publishing, organization and benchmarking, under the guidance of the Hiring Manager and Mentoring Team Members. You will be responsible:
Learn and demonstrate the fundamentals of medical device development, design, clinical use, and regulatory requirements for Shockwave Medical products. Gain and apply knowledge of submissions structures and technical requirements to product development and/or product excellence programs, as assigned. Support Regulatory team in completing assigned documentation generation and compilation requirements for registrations and other regulatory activities. Gather regulatory intelligence on country-specific requirements. Research competitor activity and create benchmarking reports for assessment. Learn the fundamentals of Document Control/Change Management and assist in assessing product and process changes and improving internal processes. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications / Requirements:
Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required. Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biocompatibility, or Regulatory Sciences, or related fields. Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework. Relevant academic project, internship, or prior experience Technical writing skills High proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint Must have good verbal and written communication skills High attention to detail and organizational skills Operate as a team or independently with management guidance Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship. The expected pay range for this position is between $26.50 per hour and $59.00 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience.
