Salary: $50,000– $55,000 per year. Final compensation is based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
Essential Responsibilities Licensing & Compliance
Ensure annual licensure of all program sites, consistently meeting Delaware State Licensing regulations.
Oversee all required physical inspections, life safety standards, child and staff files, ASQs (Ages & Stages Questionnaires), and other compliance documentation.
Maintain compliance with state and local codes, laws, and regulations relevant to early childhood education.
Program Management & Curriculum
Direct, manage, and coordinate all early childhood education programs for assigned sites.
Implement curriculum and assessments; review and approve lesson plans.
Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and mentoring to staff.
Ensure ADA requirements, inclusivity, and best practices are consistently maintained in the early education setting.
Staff Leadership & Development
Support the Senior Youth Director and collaborate with Youth Development leadership.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise personnel and volunteers.
Provide professional development opportunities, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Operations & Administration
Manage curriculum supplies and equipment within budgetary guidelines.
Partner with the Registrar and/or Business Manager to coordinate new registrations, ProCare system updates, transitions, terminations, Purchase of Care (POC)/Early Childhood Assistance Program (ECAP) subsidies, and billing issues.
Quality & Accreditation
Maintain progress and compliance with Delaware Stars quality rating system.
Ensure ongoing standards for NAEYC Accreditation are achieved and sustained.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in an early childhood or youth development setting.
Knowledge of Delaware Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL) regulations, Delaware Stars, and NAEYC Accreditation standards.
Strong leadership, coaching, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in ProCare or similar childcare management systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Multi-lingual
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or related field (master’s preferred).
