Job Description:

We're looking for a political ad writer for the 2026 election cycle. In this role, you'll script TV commercials and digital ads for many of our top clients, including some of the biggest Democratic campaigns and advocacy organizations across the country.

The ideal person for this role will be able to script and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. To show us you're a great fit for this role, please show us examples of prior work that reflects your experience in: Writing various ad lengths: 15-second, 30-second, 60-second TV commercials, digital/social videos, radio, and long-form videos. Writing for various tones: You're a chameleon and can write for any voice. Must have the ability to create ads for and against candidates and causes. Using a variety of assets: Must have the ability to write scripts that blend creative assets from a wide variety of sources. This includes, but is not limited to, using news materials, internal and external footage, and or pictures (including stock, or pulled from an online source) all in the same ad. Additionally, must have the a We are not considering candidates without previous political writing experience. While there may be some corporate/brand-related assignments, the majority of your work will be political.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Creative Director, production team, and senior strategy team to blend strategic and visual goals. (want to mention collaboration with other writers?) Create 15-second, 30-second, 60-second, and long-form scripts that inspire and motivate the viewer, that also portray our client's authenticity. Add your artistic touch, wordsmithing, or creative recommendations to other scripts that are being written. Stay up-to-date with the latest creative techniques and trends in advertising, digital trends, and advancements in political advertising. Provide expertise and input during creative meetings, contributing to the development of campaign strategies and creative concepts. Qualifications

Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in scripting. Experience in the political campaigns and advocacy space is preferred. Excellent storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to thorough quality assurance processes, especially under tight deadlines. Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Adaptability to a fast-paced environment, skilled in juggling multiple tasks with tight deadlines. Always at the ready - schedules move fast and often include weekends. PTO is restricted between Labor Day and Election Day. Benefits

SKDK is committed to pay equity. SKDK believes the target base compensation in this role is $90,000-$120,000. In addition to base salary, SKDK considers other key components as part of total compensation, including but not limited to commission on new business and a comprehensive benefits package. Actual base compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, such as skillset, level of experience, and location.
