We are a Manhattan-based heavy civil construction company delivering large-scale infrastructure and site development projects across Long Island and the greater NYC area. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join our team.
The Civil Estimator will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates for heavy civil construction projects from pre-bid through final submission. This role plays a key part in securing new work and shaping project strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil projects including earthworks, utilities, concrete, roadway, and site development Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documents Complete quantity take-offs and pricing analysis Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options Support bid strategy, scope reviews, and tender submissions Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information Requirements:
Proven experience as a Civil Estimator within heavy civil construction Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, drainage, utilities, concrete, and related civil scopes Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings and specifications Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills Experience estimating projects in the NY / Long Island market is highly desirable APPLY
