We are seeking an experienced
Mechanical Estimator
to support industrial pipe fabrication and modular construction projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for
process piping, multi-trade modular assemblies, and associated structural steel
supporting complex industrial facilities.
This is a high-impact position working closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to deliver executable, fabrication-driven estimates for clients across
pharmaceutical, chemical, data center, food & beverage, and advanced manufacturing
markets.
What You’ll Do:
Carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialty process piping
Multi-trade modular assemblies (piping, structural steel, supports, equipment integration)
Structural steel for pipe racks, skids, and modular systems
Perform quantity take-offs using:
Model-based take-offs (Navisworks)
Isometric and orthographic drawings
Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontract pricing aligned with fabrication and modular execution strategies
Evaluate constructability, fabrication sequencing, and modularization opportunities during estimating
Navigate federated models to extract quantities and validate scope
Coordinate with engineering to resolve discrepancies between models, isometrics, and drawings
Apply current market pricing and fabrication production rates
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
Identify risks, assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications
Develop pricing narratives and scope summaries for proposals
Participate in estimate reviews and project handoffs
Support business development with conceptual, budgetary, and detailed estimates
Participate in scope alignment meetings with EPCs, contractors, and owners
Support post-award estimate validation and transition to operations
Assist with procurement following award
What We’re Looking For: Experience
5+ years of estimating experience in:
Pipe fabrication, mechanical contracting, or industrial construction
Modular or prefabricated construction (preferred)
Experience supporting industrial clients such as pharmaceutical, chemical, data center, or manufacturing facilities
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency with:
Navisworks (model-based take-offs)
Isometric and orthographic piping take-offs
Solid understanding of:
Structural steel fabrication and erection interfaces
Proficient with estimating software, Excel, and digital take-off tools
Professional Attributes
Detail-oriented and highly analytical
Comfortable working with incomplete or evolving design documents
Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
Execution-focused mindset aligned with fabrication-driven delivery
How Success Is Measured:
Estimate accuracy versus actual fabrication and modular execution costs
Timeliness and completeness of estimate deliverables
Quality of scope definition, assumptions, and risk identification
Positive collaboration during handoff to project teams
What’s Offered:
Competitive compensation and performance-based incentives
Health, dental, and vision insurance
