The Role This is a high-level position requiring a seasoned paralegal who has demonstrated expertise managing complex commercial real estate transactions from inception through closing. You will work on sophisticated matters including large-scale developments, institutional acquisitions, multi-parcel assemblages, and mixed-use projects requiring advanced title examination skills.
Conduct comprehensive title searches and examinations on large commercial development projects, including complex multi-property assemblages, ground-up developments, and major institutional transactions
Analyze title commitments, surveys, and exception documents; identify and resolve sophisticated title defects, easement issues, and encumbrance matters
Prepare detailed title objection letters and work directly with title companies, municipalities, and regulatory agencies to achieve title clearance
Review and manage due diligence for high-value commercial transactions including zoning compliance, environmental assessments, survey analysis, and entity verification
Coordinate complex closings involving multiple parties, lenders, and jurisdictions; manage critical deadlines across simultaneous transactions
Maintain organized transaction files and databases; prepare comprehensive closing binders and post-closing deliverables
Interface professionally with clients, opposing counsel, lenders, brokers, and governmental entities
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of paralegal experience in commercial real estate law
Proven track record conducting title searches and resolving title issues on large-scale commercial developments
Deep working knowledge of commercial real estate transactions, title insurance principles, Massachusetts recording requirements, and land court procedures
Paralegal certificate or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational capabilities, and ability to manage multiple high-stakes transactions simultaneously
Strong communication skills and professional demeanor suitable for direct client interaction
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, real estate database systems, and legal research platforms
