Hiring for Mechanical Designer / Drafter (Fixtures & Tooling)
Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter with strong SolidWorks experience to model existing fixtures and tooling. This role focuses on reverse engineering physical hardware and releasing part numbers, models, and drawings through formal change control processes.
Key Responsibilities
Model existing fixtures and tooling in SolidWorks (reverse engineering from physical hardware)
Create and update part numbers, 3D models, and 2D drawings
Execute engineering changes through ServiceNow change control workflows Ensure compliance with internal drafting and release standards
Collaborate with manufacturing, tooling, and quality teams
Required Qualifications
Strong SolidWorks experience (parts, assemblies, drawings)
SolidWorks PDM experience
Experience modeling existing physical fixtures and tools
Hands‑on experience with engineering change control (ECR/ECO)
Experience releasing part numbers, models, and drawings
Preferred Qualifications
ServiceNow change control experience
Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (ISO, FDA, AS, etc.)
Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing drawing standards
Shop floor or tooling support experience
