Position Summary The Parts & Accessories Counter Salesperson is a key connection point between our Service Department, Sales floor, and riding community. This role supports Service Technicians and Advisors while delivering knowledgeable, high-energy service to walk-in and phone customers. Key Results Areas
Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
Support efficient service operations through accurate and timely parts fulfillment
Maintain an organized, clean, and visually appealing parts environment
Contribute to parts and accessories sales growth
Major Duties & Responsibilities Customer & Technician Support
Assist walk-in and telephone customers with parts and accessories inquiries
Take and fulfill Service Technician and Service Advisor parts requests efficiently
Help identify correct parts and accessories for specific repair jobs or customer needs
Recommend related or required parts to ensure complete repairs and upgrades
Notify service personnel when special-order or back-ordered parts arrive
Parts & Accessories Operations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parts and accessories department
Tag, stock, and display merchandise accurately and attractively
Participate in periodic physical inventories and inventory counts
Keep merchandise displays stocked, clean, and customer-ready
Maintain updated customer information and mailing lists as needed
Become proficient in dealership computer systems for parts lookup, pricing, and inventory management
Sales & Customer Experience
Greet customers promptly in a friendly, professional manner
Handle multiple customers simultaneously while maintaining individual satisfaction
Process cash and credit card transactions accurately
Promote sales, specials, and new merchandise
Resolve customer concerns with empathy and professionalism, reinforcing our commitment to making things right
Team & Professional Commitments
Attend required PHD classes and training sessions as assigned
Work collaboratively with all dealership departments
Accept coaching and direction to continuously improve performance
Maintain a professional appearance and organized workspace
Be reliable, punctual, and available for a flexible schedule
Qualifications & Job Requirements
Experience with point-of-sale and computerized inventory systems, or the ability to learn quickly
Knowledge of motorcycle components (front end, suspension, engine, accessories), or a strong willingness to learn
Ability to accurately look up parts and quote pricing using catalogs and electronic systems
Strong time-management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Friendly, outgoing personality as a visible representative of the dealership
Harley-Davidson product knowledge or dealership experience preferred, but not required
Physical Demands
Continuous standing with occasional walking
Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift up to 40 lbs
Noise levels may be moderate to occasionally loud
Working Conditions
Exposure to chemicals, gasoline, battery acid, and other materials commonly found in a service department
Occasional exposure to exhaust fumes and airborne particles
