Business Development Associate

will be instrumental in scaling our renewable energy investment platform by sourcing high-quality opportunities in renewable power & fuels, and managing key relationships across investment targets, channel partners, and other capital markets players like lenders and tax credit buyers. Working closely with Partners as part of the Investment Team, the candidate will drive pipeline growth through proactive outreach, market analysis, and transaction support, contributing directly to the firm's success in decarbonization strategies.

Responsibilities

Deal Origination: Source and develop new investment opportunities across renewable energy projects by engaging developers, IPPs, infrastructure funds, and other stakeholders through cold outreach, networking, conferences, and market research.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with project owners/developers and cultivate close ties with companies, banks, institutional investors, and tax credit buyers to facilitate deal flow, joint ventures etc.

Deal Execution: Support transaction negotiations, due diligence, financial modeling and closing of transactions - collaborating with legal, investment, and technical teams.

Team Support: Assist in developing investment proposals, conducting research, and contributing to investment committee reports.

Industry Representation: Represent the firm at policy forums, conferences, and events to enhance visibility and source partnerships.

Qualifications

At least 2-4+ years of relevant experience in sales/business development, private equity, investment banking, or renewable energy finance, with a focus on deal origination and relationship management.

Proven track‑record of building client relationships and closing transactions.

Hungry, entrepreneurial mindset with deep interest in renewable energy, decarbonization, and sustainable infrastructure.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a confident, outward-facing presence.

Strong analytical abilities, including intermediate financial modeling, market research, and valuation.

The base salary for this position is estimated to be $125,000-$175,000, depending on experience. Total compensation includes bonus and comprehensive benefits.
