The
Marketing and Business Development Manager
will support the firm’s profile-raising, client engagement, and revenue-generation efforts through creative marketing initiatives and a robust, strategically executed events program. This position will work closely with all levels of the firm and practice department leadership under the guidance and direction of the Director of Marketing and Business Development.
Schedule 3 days per week in the office
Location Midtown Manhattan
Salary Up to $175k base, bonus eligible, comprehensive benefits
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
5-8 years of experience in marketing and business development at a law firm is preferred
Responsibilities
Lead the planning, logistics, promotion and execution of client-facing events and attorney speaking engagements, including roundtables, CLE programs, conferences, sponsorship activations and social/client appreciation events.
Develop event strategies aligned with firm and practice group priorities, ensuring each program supports relationship-building and business development goals.
Manage event budgets, vendor relationships and post-event follow-up and ROI tracking.
Partner with attorneys to design thought leadership and educational programs that position the firm as a trusted advisor.
Contribute to the firm’s submissions for legal directories, awards, and rankings, including tracking deadlines, drafting content and identifying references.
Work with attorneys and other members of the marketing team to identify business development opportunities, prepare targeted client pitches and support cross-selling initiatives.
Create, prepare, coordinate and track results of pitches, proposals and presentations for client meetings and new business pursuits.
Manage the creation of marketing collateral, web content and attorney bios to ensure consistency and impact.
Conduct research on clients, prospects, industries, competitors and markets to inform strategic outreach.
Collaborate on digital marketing initiatives, including website updates, social media content, and email campaigns.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve marketing and business development efforts.
Other duties as assigned or required.
Required to travel to events (10%).
Required Skills/Abilities
Proven experience managing professional events from concept through execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, organizational and project management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Must be punctual and reliable.
Able to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding client service mindset and professional demeanor; ability to represent the firm positively in various settings.
Ensure confidentiality of all the firm’s and clients’ documentation and information.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
Experience in Hubspot a plus (not required).
