Description SENIOR CARRIER SALES REPRESENTATIVE

The Senior Carrier Sales Representative is focused on capacity development and carrier management in support of the customer sales operation. Teammates that are in this role will also be responsible for supporting training requirements, mentoring new team members, leading by example through the revenue/margin growth and being champions of the GEODIS culture.

What you will be doing:

Develop and manage the carrier database and expand GEODIS' services

Successfully understand carrier’s operational capabilities, freight needs, and service area

Foster and develop relationships with carriers in North America

Reach and excel the required load coverage levels and target margin goals

Utilize and display sharp negotiation skills to ensure GEODIS provides the most cost-effective logistics solutions

Meet dispatching and check call requirements

Maintain reliable communications with sales team regarding changes in shipper pick-up and customer delivery schedules and potential service failures

Communicate customer problems, needs, leads and inquiries to the sales team

Provide shipment quotes to customers

Prioritize available freight to efficiently and effectively cover all available customer loads

Track all booked loads from the point the transportation provider is contracted through final delivery of the load

Understand and support the goals, policies, and procedures of GEODIS

Prompt and regular attendance

Participate in developmental opportunities that expand your knowledge of the business operations and logistics industry

Mentor and train other teammates through job shadowing and being an active participant in team calls where market insights are shared

Other duties as required and assigned

Requirements:

Three years of previous freight brokerage experience required

Ability to work well independently, occasionally with minimal supervision, and as part of a team

Ability to consistently follow existing processes, develops new processes, and maintains required standards, and work with the team to improve them

Exceptional customer service focus and skills

Must have a drive to succeed, confidence and superior verbal communication skills

Organizational and scheduling skills

Bilingual; English and Spanish speaking preferred, but not required
