DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES SusieCakes is seeking an exceptionally organized, detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator to support our local and regional marketing efforts. This is a fully remote role, with candidates required to be based in Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Oklahoma City, or Nashville.
Success in this role depends on precision, organization, and follow-through. The Marketing Coordinator will independently manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and is responsible for ensuring all marketing execution—across social, digital, PR, and community channels—is accurate, timely, and aligned with the SusieCakes brand.
This role partners closely with the Head of Brand Marketing, local bakeries, vendors, and agencies to support day-to-day marketing execution and operational coordination.
RESPONSIBILITIES Social Media & Community Engagement
Own day-to-day execution and decision-making for SusieCakes social media channels, including content prioritization, copy decisions, engagement approach, and escalation of issues.
Schedule all Instagram and TikTok posts
Write clear, engaging, on-brand copy for all IG and TikTok content
Engage with SusieCakes guests by responding to comments and direct messages
Monitor and engage with posts that tag SusieCakes and share approved content via Instagram Stories
Proactively request permission to use user-generated content (UGC) and organize approved assets
Represent the SusieCakes brand voice in local Facebook groups and relevant Reddit threads
Marketing Operations & Coordination
Coordinate product logistics with bakeries for PR orders, influencer gifting, donations, and events
Place orders, provide detailed instructions, confirm pickup and delivery details, and send reminders
Independently draft, review, and approve SMS marketing messages for accuracy, tone, and brand alignment
Develop PR briefs using business objectives and campaign priorities, and share with local agencies
Assist with event logistics and local partnerships
Oversee and track intern timesheets
Digital & Content Support
Build and update new product pages on the SusieCakes website
Coordinate digital menu board updates for all local bakeries
Write blog posts aligned with brand storytelling, seasonal initiatives, and product launches
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Demonstrated ability to make sound, independent decisions that support brand standards, guest experience, and business goals
Flawless execution of day-to-day marketing initiatives
Highly organized systems and documentation that support marketing efficiency
Consistent, timely, and on-brand social and digital presence
Strong coordination with bakeries, agencies, and internal partners
Accurate, detail-driven work with minimal revisions or follow-up
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
1–3 years of experience in marketing, social media, or brand coordination
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong writing skills with a clear understanding of brand voice
Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and social media best practices
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a remote environment
Comfortable engaging directly with guests and online communities
Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset
Experience in food, hospitality, or lifestyle brands is a plus
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree required; Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to travel to bakeries
Must be able to attend events and new bakery grand openings
Able to sit for long periods of time
Able to use a computer for long periods of time
Abe to make and receive phone calls and respond to emails, chats or text messages
Frequent walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead
Able to occasionally stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to occasionally lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds
