About the Role We are seeking a Development Associate/Analyst to support the underwriting, structuring, and execution of complex multifamily, commercial and mixed‑use real estate development opportunities. This role works closely with senior leadership and contributes directly to investment decisions through rigorous financial analysis, market evaluation, and disciplined execution. The ideal candidate brings strong real estate financial modeling expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Underwrite development and acquisition opportunities using detailed Excel‑based pro forma models.

Analyze project feasibility, returns, sensitivities, and capital structures, and communicate findings to senior management.

Prepare investment committee and internal review materials, including financial assumptions, risks, and scenario analysis.

Evaluate market trends, pricing, and absorption to support development strategy and investment timing.

Review and reconcile development budgets, sources and uses, and cash flow projections throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaborate with development, acquisitions, and asset management teams to support projects from concept through stabilization.

Support process improvements and contribute to the refinement of underwriting standards and analytical tools.

Required Skills & Experience

Advanced real estate financial modeling skills in Microsoft Excel, particularly development pro formas.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights.

High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple active projects and deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting analyses to senior leadership.

Highly organized, self‑directed, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in real estate financial analysis, development, or acquisitions.

Experience modeling multi‑family and single‑family residential development projects.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field.

Advanced proficiency in Excel, pro forma modeling, and Microsoft Office.

Solid understanding of development finance, forecasting, and corporate finance concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) or similar graduate degree.

Experience with market pricing analysis and absorption studies.
