The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park.
The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB Houston Dynamo FC is seeking a technical and creative professional to support all facets of Game and Event Production, while playing a key role in broader department initiatives and events. This full‑time position is responsible for a variety of Audio/Video, Scoreboard, and Broadcast services and equipment.
The position requires a personable, well‑rounded individual to work independently with hands‑on responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience with managing the setup, maintenance, organization, and deployment of broadcast, scoreboard, video, and audio technologies throughout Shell Energy Stadium, as well as supporting programming, scripts, run of shows, and content for all events and matches for the team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage technical broadcast operations for Dynamo, Dash, TSU, Houston Gamblers, SHSU, and other Stadium and Club‑led Events
Manage content workflow for in‑stadium presentation
Plan and Control budget for Stadium AV Department
Work closely with vendors for all stadium events & broadcast production trucks
Oversee the operations of scoreboard and video board maintenance
Prepare, set, and test all AV equipment ahead of events start time to ensure all functions are working properly
Crew and Schedule part‑time staff for all stadium events
Operation of Advance AV Equipment – Audio & Sound System Technology for events and press conferences
Coordinate with AV Technicians for pregame, halftime, and postgame ceremonies
Minor repair/replacement of systems and equipment such as TV’s and amplifiers
Perform routine maintenance to AV equipment and maintain a clean, labeled, and organized inventory of equipment and tools
Set up, install, upkeep, and manage all portable multimedia equipment
Collaborate with Stadium staff and Event contacts for AV services for meetings and stadium events
Maintain an inventory and maintenance log of all AV equipment
Collaborate with creative, production, and content teams on graphics, visual assets, and overall creative direction for in‑game and live event productions
Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role or related field
Knowledge of the function and operation of AV equipment used for a multi‑purpose sports and entertainment facility
The ability and knowledge of working in a fully operational HD video control room
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere experience a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES
Have working knowledge of stadium audio systems, control room equipment, portable audio setups, PC and Mac operating systems, professional‑level video cameras, wireless microphones, & Clear Comm. systems
Basic Knowledge of Click Effects systems, production switchers, and replay systems
Basic video editing and graphic creation skills
Experience with content creation, production, and broadcast systems, including Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Ross XPression, Ross Carbonite Switcher, and Evertz DreamCatcher.
Basic knowledge of AV integration and installation
Familiar with cable pulling, rack wiring, and termination techniques as well as basic soldering skills a plus
Excellent management and leadership skills with keen attention to detail and time management
Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain positive, productive, and supportive working relationships
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure
Ability to work in a control room and machine room settings
Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to attend ALL home games at Shell Energy Stadium and other live events that take place on holidays and weekends.
