Merget is an early-stage AI startup building version control for the age of vibe coding. Think of us as git for people who build with AI—helping vibe coders manage their projects, collaborate with others, and ship faster. We're based in NYC.
The Role
We're looking for a freelance content creator to build and manage our social media presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, and X. You'll work closely with the founder to develop both the company brand and the founder's personal brand, creating content that resonates with developers, AI enthusiasts, and potential investors. This is a hands‑on, in‑person role based in NYC. You'll be responsible for the full content lifecycle—from ideation to capture to edit to post. What You'll Do:
Develop and execute a content strategy for Instagram, LinkedIn, and X Ideate and plan content that speaks to vibe coders, developers, and the broader AI/tech community Shoot photos and videos (including founder‑focused content, product demos, behind‑the‑scenes, etc.) Edit short‑form video content (Reels, short clips for X, LinkedIn video) Write engaging copy tailored to each platform Manage posting schedules and community engagement Track performance and iterate based on what's working Help shape and grow the founder's personal brand alongside the company's What We're Looking For
Experience creating content for tech startups, developer tools, or AI products Strong portfolio of social media work (especially short‑form video) Proficiency with video editing tools (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, etc.) Understanding of what performs well on Instagram, LinkedIn, and X Ability to translate technical concepts into accessible, engaging content Based in or able to regularly work in‑person in NYC Self‑directed and comfortable working in a fast‑paced startup environment Nice to Have
Familiarity with the developer/vibe coder community Experience building a founder's personal brand Experience with AI tools for content creation To Apply

Compensation Disclosure (NYC Pay Transparency Law):
The hourly rate for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hour, based on experience and deliverables. This is the good faith range we expect to pay for this role. Contract Terms:
In accordance with New York's Freelance Isn't Free Act, a written contract will be provided outlining the scope of services, compensation, and payment terms. Payment will be made within 30 days of services rendered, or as otherwise specified in the contract. Equal Opportunity:
