Contract Administration Manager

to lead a high-impact team within our

Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD)

of the Analytical Instrument Group. In this role, you’ll be at the intersection of

Sales, Government Contracting, and Risk Management , enabling our commercial and public-sector customers to advance life-changing discoveries across life sciences, materials science, and semiconductors.

What You’ll Do As Manager of Contract Administration, you will lead, mentor, and develop a team of contract professionals (8-10 direct reports) who support Sales and Service through the full contracting lifecycle—included within government and regulated environments. You will: Lead daily contract operations, overseeing the review, drafting, negotiation, and approval of sales-related contracts, bids, RFPs, and RFQs for both government and commercial customers. Serve as a strategic partner to Sales, ensuring contracts enable revenue while managing risk and maintaining compliance. Provide expert guidance on government contracting requirements, including FAR/DFAR-related considerations, SAM registration, and public-sector portals. Maintain and enhance the department Playbook, SOPs, and compliance documentation to ensure alignment with corporate, divisional, legal, and government policies. Act as an escalation point for complex contract issues, customer concerns, and partner questions—driving timely, well-reasoned resolutions. Coach and develop your team, setting clear goals, tracking benchmarks, and addressing performance gaps. Oversee compliance related to Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety, and customer-specific requirements. Manage and optimize a centralized workflow system for contract negotiations and final agreements. Support Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability. Collaborate cross-functionally with Global Commercial Operations, Legal, Sales, and Service teams. Serve as a backup for the Global Commercial Operations Senior Manager as needed. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, or a related field—or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience

in

government and commercial contracting , including contract negotiations supporting Sales. 3+ years of people management experience , leading teams of five or more. Strong knowledge of

government contracting environments , registrations, and compliance requirements. Proven ability to balance

business growth with contractual and regulatory risk . Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to influence internal and external stakeholders. High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to perform under tight deadlines. A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing talent. Flexibility to work across U.S. time zones and occasional global interactions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Why Thermo Fisher Scientific? Compensation and Benefits The salary range estimated for this position based in Oregon is $93,800.00–$140,675.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
