Job Description:

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Engagement, the Engagement Associate plays a key role in strengthening the human experience at HITT and assisting with the execution of our community engagement efforts nationwide. This role is ideal for someone who is thoughtful, purpose-driven, and relationship-focused, with strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in creating positive experiences for people at work and in the community. This position offers intentional exposure to HITT’s strategic initiatives and is designed for an early-career professional eager to build foundational skills across team member engagement, onboarding and corporate social responsibility. The efforts supported by this role help bring HITT’s culture to life—creating a sense of purpose, belonging, and pride for team members while strengthening our commitment to being a good neighbor in the communities we serve. HITT, founded in 1937 as a small family business, has grown into one of the nation’s top 10 largest general contractors. With deep roots in the Washington, DC area and a rapidly expanding presence across the United States, HITT’s growth is driven by our clients and built on strong, lasting relationships with partners and subcontractors. Today, our 2,200+ construction professionals deliver a full range of services, including base building construction, renovations, corporate interior fit-outs, service, and emergency work. With annual revenues of $13 billion, HITT is about more than construction—we are building dreams, shaping possibilities, and defining the places where people live, work, and connect. Responsibilities: Coordinate and help execute internal and external initiatives—including team member experience programs, events, recognition efforts, and appreciation moments—ensuring seamless logistics, communications, and on-site support. Contribute to onboarding experiences, including the support of pre-employment processing, orientation facilitation and content management, to help create a welcoming and engaging introduction to HITT for new team members nationwide. Participate in the planning and execution of initiatives tied to HITT’s new Headquarters opening in early 2027, including HQ programming, building tours, community-facing events, and internal experiences that strengthen culture and connection. Support community engagement, volunteerism, and philanthropic initiatives helping connect team members to meaningful impact. Help elevate the regional team member experience by collaborating with internal teams and regional partners to deliver engagement efforts across offices and jobsites—ensuring consistency, connection, and alignment nationwide. Serve as a reliable team contributor, providing flexible support across engagement initiatives and peak activity periods. Contribute ideas and continuous improvements to enhance both the team member and community experience. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Human Resources, or other relevant field required. 1+ years of experience in a corporate setting required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organization. Experienced in collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals. Experience in event management preferred, but not required. Experience in orientation facilitation, onboarding is desired. Experience coordinating multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously. Highly organized and self-directed. Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team. High emotional intelligence with the ability to connect with diverse groups and adapt to varying needs. Demonstrated attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Adaptable and creative, with the ability to contribute ideas that enhance team member experiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; Adobe Creative Suite desirable. Familiarity with internal collaboration, communication, or engagement platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Workday). HITT Contracting is an equal opportunity employer.
