
Member Relations Associate
The Intrepid Museum seeks a Member Relations Associate. The Member Relations Associate plays a key role within the Intrepid Museum's Institutional Advancement department, serving as a frontline ambassador for our members and visitors. This position supports all aspects of membership engagement and acquisitionassisting with on-site interactions, help with renewal conversations, processing data, and ensuring members receive their benefits with warmth, accuracy, and exceptional care. Responsibilities and Duties Supports membership department strategy by contributing to short and long range planning in collaboration with the Director of Membership and Annual Giving. Oversees daily processing of all Household and Library memberships and ensures accurate, up to date member records in our CRM, Tessitura. Serves as a primary contact for members, responding promptly to inquiries and providing excellent customer service. Acknowledges membership gifts and fulfills member benefits on a weekly basis. Manages monthly renewal operations, including preparing and mailing renewal and upgrade letters. Leads solicitation, fulfillment, and renewal efforts for the Library Membership program. Assists at special events and public programs as needed. Maintains the membership mailing and event calendar and tracks RSVPs for member events. Ensures all membership content on the Museum website is current and submits updates as required. Maintains clean, accurate member contact information and overall data quality in Tessitura. Organizes and oversees the Membership department's collateral inventory. Contributes to broader Institutional Advancement fundraising and development work as a collaborative team member. Performs additional duties as assigned by management. This position is 40 hours a week. Flexibility to attend membership/Institutional Advancement or museum events in the evening or weekends as necessary. The ideal candidates will have a BS or BA degree from a four-year college or university and related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Exemplary computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet. Database experience required, Tessitura-specific experience preferred. Excellent organizational skills and an eye for detail essential. Must be able to meet deadlines. Excellent judgment, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to work with members, donors, the public and colleagues. Ability to act with diplomacy and discretion at all organizational levels, work with a wide range of information, organize details and meet deadlines under pressure.
